FAQs

I will ask you to share what brought you to therapy, and we’ll explore what is top of mind for you as well as identify goals to work on together. We will spend time exploring your relationships and the roles they play in your life.
-
Meeting frequency is flexible, dependent on the individual and often changes over time. When we first start working together, I’ll suggest meeting more frequently (weekly or biweekly) to establish a positive momentum. After that, you may decide to space sessions out to every three or four weeks.

The number of weeks, months or years you see a therapist depends on a number of factors, and is specific to you and your life circumstances. Your needs and preferences will likely change over time.
I have worked with people for shorter periods (<6 months) to navigate specific life events and experiences, and I have worked with others over four years.

I believe everyone can benefit from therapy. You do not need to have had a significant event happen or categorize your symptoms or experience as “bad” or “severe” before reaching out.
Therapy is a space for you to process and explore what’s going in your life. If you have thought about therapy in the past, feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, find you want some additional support, or find yourself holding onto conflict or hurt, therapy is here for you.

Both pregnancy and postpartum are times of physical, mental, and emotional change. There are shifts and new demands on your roles and relationships. Many people experience feelings of isolation and find it hard to navigate aspects of these periods, even with a support system in place. Therapy may be a valuable space during this transition, time that is dedicated to you while you prepare to or are focused on caring for others.

I accept most insurance.
If you do not have insurance or only limited coverage, we can discuss sliding scale availability or a lowered rate for the remainder of the coverage period.
-
Check with your insurance provider before our first scheduled session to confirm if you have coverage under “social work.”
-
I understand that therapy is expensive, and aim to keep my rates as accessible as possible.
I reserve a few spots for clients in need of flexible pricing. Please contact me directly to inquire if there is a spot available.

After a session, you’ll recieve an invoice from me via the booking and billing platform, Jane.
If you’d like to leave a credit card on file, I will automatically process your payment through Jane, and you will receive a receipt by email.
Alternatively, you can also pay via e-transfer, and upon receipt of payment, a receipt will be emailed to you.
All details required for insurance purposes will be included in receipts.
